Prior to completion of his degree at AFDA - The South African School of Motion Picture Medium and Live Performance, Rashid was well-known as a singer and rapper having appeared on stage in countries around the world.
He received acclaim for his performances in London at the Royal Albert Hall with Cat Stevens in 2004 and went on to become famous through songs such as ‘Drug Free’, ‘Heartbeat’ and ‘Broken’. He has performed with his father and as a solo artist since the tender age of eight.
A career in the arts was a natural progression for this talented young man. His passion for film was sparked by the creative direction of several music videos in which he starred and helped conceptualize whilst in High School and University. After That he has worked on numerous sets and been involved with some of the most talented Directors of Photography's in the industry today.Teaching him very valuable, important lessons and tricks of the trade.
Rashid majored in cinematography at AFDA and is using his skills learned thus far to create incredible, touching and heartfelt cinematic content.
